Given this feedback, we have now completely re-designed the layout of the megaman lamps page to mirror the megaman manufacturers website. We have finally released the first ever range of metal flat plate pink switches and sockets exclusive to Light Up Uk. These pink switches and sockets are manufactured here in the UK and are made from anodised aluminium and come with black trim and chrome rockers. Light Up Uk will shortly be adding a white trim option to choose from.
We worked very closely with the manufacturers in the making of these pink switches and sockets to ensure that the best colour and highest quality finish was obtained. We believe that this shade of pink will compliment all other shades making them great for updating existing interiors.
We have ensured that we supply a full range of switches and sockets from cooker switches to shaver sockets, allowing you to add them to any room in the house. So what’s different about Megaman LEDS?
Most leds on market only use 3 or 4 leds, each led being around 2 watts to give a total wattage of anything between 6 and 7watts. The problem with this is the hotter you run leds the more likely they are to fail and loose there colour temperature (ill explain colour temperature on another blog). As I said above, leds don’t like heat; this is why the better leds on market are alot bigger in length. Longer Leds have a heat shunt on them which protects the electronics and leds from the heat generated thus giving the leds a longer life. Of course if leds fail in fittings with only 4 in, the output resulting will be that of extremely reduced quality.
So why are Megaman leds different and better? To start with, megaman uses a massive 96 leds in the lamps (two blocks of 48 either side of a centre stem). This means each led is only being used at a very low wattage. Secondly if an led was to fail, the fall in output and quality will be almost unnoticeable.
